Desk Diaries: Katie Leede

Guest Contribution by Katie Leede

Katie Leede & Co. textiles and wallcoverings are available to-the-trade through CLOTH & KIND’s Showroom. If you’re an interior designer, we welcome you to apply for a trade account.

Today we have the privilege of sharing the workspace of our fabulous friend and textile designer extraordinaire, Katie Leede of Katie Leede & Company who has agreed to guest edit the column! Sidebar - if you’re an interior designer, we also represent Katie’s line in our boutique to-the-trade showroom which you should totally check out.

Katie maintains her creative energy in her new work from home space by surrounding herself with bits and pieces from current projects, beloved books, relics from her travels, and most recently, with test runs of her up and coming wallpaper collection which was inspired by her trip to Morocco last year. We’ll be debuting a very early sneak peek at the patterns and hear Katie telling us all about each pattern in an upcoming IGTV episode so keep your eyes peeled.

We adore how she keeps her space fresh with flowers and a lit candle while it is spread with pens, lots of notebooks - she prefers pen to paper over digital any old day, her laptop, The Artist’s Way (Julia Cameron’s Creativity as a Spiritual Practice), antique textile fragments, and her “go bag”— which includes her keys, a face mask, Wet Ones antibacterial wipes, Chloe sunglasses, her Visa, and her all-time favorite Nars Velvet LipGloss in Paradise Garage. Check it out.

For a video tour of Katie’s NYC apartment, including her lovely work from home space, check out our recent Instagram LIVE which is now on our IGTV channel.

Thanks a million for sharing, Katie! We adore you more than you know, and continue to be greatly influenced by you as an interior designer and by your killer textiles and wallcoverings. Deep bow.
