Welcome to the first post in a brand new CLOTH & KIND column called Lovely List. Every so often, I’ll share my personal choices of the 9 most lovely things from one of that particular month’s design magazines. And I’m kicking things off with pretty, pretty images from one of my favorites, House Beautiful (June 2012).

pages 76 // 94 // 24 // 46 // 36 // 38 // 100 // 15 // 77
Which images or articles were your favorites from this issue? If you’re like me, you probably go back and re-read/peruse each issue multiple times before the next one arrives, right? Every time I look back through this one, I keep folding over more pages and focusing in on more little details of the various spaces. I love House Beautiful in that way – it’s layered enough that I can enjoy it, and re-enjoy it over and over again all month long.

Love the new column! Page 100 was also a favorite when I was reading though!
So agree. That Katie Ridder Leaf wallpaper on p. 100 stopped me in my tracks when I was reading the issue. It makes that bedroom, doesn’t it? Thanks, Elizabeth! xoxo
i agree. i’ve been carrying it around in my bag this past week and looking at it every chance i get each time noticing another gorgeous detail. love the cover room, the kr leaf papered room and i went to b.moore yesterday and there’s been a run on the color healing aloe from the living room ceiling on page. 62! oh yes and loving “swish”. must pin.. will look for it in your tex files!
I’m so glad to hear you say all of this, Kara! Online, the world of social media, blogs… they are all great and amazing, but there’s just something about having that glossy paper issue in your hands that you can carry around in your bag, isn’t there? Oh, and yes – Swish is in The Textile Files for your repinning!… https://pinterest.com/pin/218565388136261390/ Have a great day! xoxo
As an ode to my past in print publishing, I was inspired to create this new Pinterest board… https://pinterest.com/clothandkind/pretty-print-ads/. I won’t be featuring advertisers in this Lovely List column (only editorial), but I will be adding my favorite lovely ads onto this board each month.
I firmly believe that the right ads, for companies with the right product, featured in the right place totally enhance a readers experience and turn us all on to brands that excite us and that are relevant to us. Cheers to the marketers who are doing it right!
What do you think?
Great idea, Krista- on both the feature from magazines and the Pinterest ad pins- looking forward to seeing it.
There is something about glossy magazines with great images!
Thanks, Seema. I’m getting wonderful feedback on your Proust interview and sneak peek’s from the new Bombay Glitz line, by the way! When will the new fabrics be available?
the display pieces are shipping to showrooms next week. Yay!
Memo samples too will be available next week. And product will be in stock by the end of the month!
Yea!! Just let everyone know via Facebook as well! xoxo
So funny- I was just oohing and aaahing over the textiles in that issue with some friends, from the John Robshaw bedding to the tenugui!!
Cheers,
Jacqueline
All so swoon-worthy, I know! Glad you like my choices, Jacqueline! How’s the beach house coming?
I don’t know what I would do without my magazines – and HB in particular. I get so excited waiting for it in the mail each month. I love every issue really but I really thought the interviews in this month’s issue were spectacular – particularly the interview with Podge Bune and her home and Zim Loy’s home. And I have to agree with the comment above about BM Healing Aloe on the ceiling of the living room designed by Beth Webb – oh my goodness that is beautiful and peaceful. (See I can’t stop with this issue)…I also loved the kitchen featured as well – I fell in love with the light fixtures and the large cabinet that is used for storage. I follow you on Pinterest Krista, and I’ve been meaning to come over to the blog more so I signed up to be emailed with your posts. Have a great weekend!
It’s official – we all ADORE House Beautiful! I love your comment, Holly. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm. I just return followed you on Pinterest, FB & Twitter as well! Happy weekend. xoxo
Hi Krista… HB is definitely my favourite too.. but also have to compliment you on your photoshop skills this post…. I couldnt imagine how this is done and will have to do a course as it’s really cute to see on your blog! Bon weekend! xxoo
Jenny – you are so kind! Thank you!! I owe all of my Photoshop skills to BlogShop http://blogshopla.wordpress.com/. Angela & Bri are the best teachers, and what an incredible weekend it was to be with other like-minded bloggers all with a common desire to learn and improve the aesthetics our blogs. Highly recommend this class. Have a lovely weekend too. Are you home yet? xoxo
No.. still in France for another 5 weeks… two more here in Boussac and then another three in Provence… too busy being full-time grandma at the moment to blog! I wonder if Blogshop do courses in Aus? Otherwise, I might just have to hop (kangaroo hop) over to the US !!! xoxo
Ahhh – 5 more weeks in France sounds like a dream come true. I’m glad you are not blogging too much and enjoying every minute with your kids and grandkids. Although, I am enjoying the posts you do manage to get up! Re: BlogShop – I know they’ve done some international classes…. Check their site. You never know!
